Guaranteed to save hundreds of gallons of fuel every day! A minor inconvenience, but it makes me feel better when I’m parked in the back, in the dark and it’s too noisy to hear anything, especially since my tanks are set back to the tandems the cap is behind the sleeper.
I don’t know if I’ve ever had a problem before, but there have been times when I’ve woken up and started the truck and I could have sworn I had more fuel than that. There was one time I noticed the cap was off, but I could have forgotten to put it back on. If I get distracted on the fuel islantd (A.D.D.), anything can happen.
Keeping them working is kind of a pain.About every couple of months I have to clean them out with WD-40. During winter, I’ll put the unsecure caps back on just so I don’t have to worry about freezing. Which happened one time. But I’m at the truck stop anyway, just get some hot water to fix it.
I need a little help here, I’ve seen these things before, but now I can’t find them - They are little rubber caps that fit over the fuel caps to keep dirt out of the locks. Has anyone seen them online somewhere? Or do you have any other ideas to keep them clean and unfrozen?
