I think that the solution to the broker problem is for one of these larger brokers to go "Starbucks" on the industry and completely take over the little shops and squeeze them out. That doesn't fit with traditional economics models, but I bet you that carriers wouldn't mind paying a little more for a guaranteed service. Very interesting insight.
