mike psakWe have his link here on our site and I’ve talked to him a few times - My impression is that he’s a good guy, educated, articulate and if there was ever a time for someone that is actually for the people, it’s now. I was going to write something, but this article is much better than anything I could have put together on him -

Mike Psak - American Trucker Runs for US Senate Seat in Illinois
By Renee Taylor (07/29/07) (July 28, 2007 - AMTW/AR) - As the 2008 elections approach, the American public seems hungry for the “every-man”, someone untouched by the trappings of incumbent power. They are hungry for someone in touch with working America, who understands the reality of going to work every day and paying taxes. A candidate with fresh ideas who is not corrupted by special interests. It is the state of Illinois that seems to have found one such “every-man”, an American trucker named Mike Psak, has joined in the Senatorial race against liberal Democrat incumbent, Dick Durbin.

Psak, who holds a Masters in Business Administration from DePaul University and a bachelors of science in math/computer science from the University of Illinois, grew weary of the daily grind of sitting within the confines of his four-walled office. The open road called and Psak joined tens of thousands of hard working American truckers delivering food, fuel and other goods across the United States.

It was this experience that solidified Psak’s belief that Washington was not in touch with the average American voter. He knew what he had to do.

And it goes on. I believe it’s time for a change. No matter what Party you think you belong to it seems we have all been betrayed and for what? It’s time for a change.

Mike has been offered Corporate money and has refused. He is doing great in the polls and because people are ready to replace the Old Guard, I believe he has a chance. He might be running in Illinois as a Senator, but national issues are won or loss by a few votes. We need every vote for America we can get.

OOIDA has a PAC (Political Action Committee) that works in Washington for driver issues, but wouldn’t it be better to have a Senator that’s actually knows the trucking issues. I don’t agree on everything OOIDA does and I’m sure I won’t agree with Mike 100% of the time, but at the core, I believe he wants whats best for America.
