After a lull in the subject, it seems a certain so called “truckers organization” is continuing keeping the spin in full force. And I’m certain we’ll be hearing this kicked around on the midnight trucking shows. In their latest “Special Report”, OOIDA is saying that Mexico is planning to send trucks across the border at the end of this month. They quote an article in T21 , a magazine of the Mexican trucking industry. And as usual, they have the story “spun” to reflect their own agenda.
Unfortunately, the story they based this report on has expired, but there is a translated version on my site.
The title of the article in spanish was “PodrĂa posponerse nuevamente programa piloto .” or “PILOT PROGRAM COULD BE POSTPONED AGAIN”. Nothing in it says that the Mexicans “PLAN” to send trucks across at the end of the month.
Nor does the article in Landline Magazine mention anything about the fact that 25 U.S. trucking companies have expressed interest in operating in Mexico nor that 5 have completed the application process to do so. This would be contrary to the agenda they are trying to promote.
Read it and decide for yourself. In addition, all documents from the FMCSA relating to the Pilot Truck Program are available for download on Mexico Trucker Most of these official documents expose the use of fear instead of facts from the opposition. They are good reading if you do so with an open mind.

I was reading my hard copy of Landline the other day and one of their biggest concerns is that Mexican trucks will be hauling interstate freight, especially since there isn’t any enforcement and even if there was, BOL’s can be forged too easily.
I agree that the rules need to be enforced for everyone, I’m sure there are a few Canadian trucks doing the same thing, but no one knows about it.
Their only valid point in all of this, is that the rules need to be enforced.
