I’m on my fifth laptop since I started driving. One of the weak links is the power supplies. I’ve had them just quit working or the ends get worn enough to mess up the connection or completely break. Ordering a power supply from the company or from the Internet isn’t as bad as it used to be, but now I’ve found a better solution.

Igo.com power supplies and adapters for just about anything portable and electronic. It’s a modular system that has a main unit, a separate plug that goes into power source, like the wall or the car adapter and the other end has the power tip that can be switched in a second. I’ve got “tips” to power my ipod, cell phones, laptop and pda. I can now charge or power any device from the cigarette lighter in the truck or a regular wall outlet.

When I get a new or different gadget, all I need is the right power tip, not an entire new plug in to lose and get tangled with all the other power cords. There’s also an adapter that allows you to charge two things at once. I’ll have my laptop plugged into the truck and it will be charging my cell phone or ipod at the same time. Other tips are available for mp3 players, cameras, even portable satellite radios and GPS units.

If a part of the power supply or the tip or a cord breaks, replace that part and not the entire power supply.

For those that really travel, all you need is the part that goes from the power supply to the wall, not an entirely new power supply. Power adapters are available for Europe or anywhere else. Now, all of your devices can be charged wherever you’re at.

It’s a brilliant solution for those that are constantly moving from the truck to the house and back or traveling to Europe or foreign countries where plugging in your stuff is a concern.
