Greg Biffle comes up with the win at a rain shortened “Life Lock 400. The real problem Sunday was the lack of lights at “The Kansas Speedway”. With as much money as they put into that track, I would have thought that lights would have gone up when the rest of the track was being built. Well it was like a marathon on Sunday in Kansas. The day didn’t start out like one but it ended up that way. The sky at race time was cloudy and overcast, and was threatening to rain. The “command to Start Engines” was given by Apollo Astronaut Jim Lovell and the race is underway.
Lap Number 12
Then on lap number 12 the first caution comes out for the rain. The race was red flagged for 45 minutes for the rain then we got it rolling again until lap number 146 when lightening is seen behind the track. Caution is on the speedway once again. The red flag comes out again on lap 149 and fans are told to seek shelter due to the lightening in the thunderstorm. At 6 P.M. Eastern time the television coverage was switched from abc to espn due to the long rain delay. At 7:07 P.M. eastern time the engines are started again, now remember that its getting late and there are no lights at this track.
A Big Crash
A big crash on lap number 157 delays the finish of the race even more. At this point I am wondering if it will ever end? That crash collected Bobby Labonte,Chase contender Martin truex Jr., Matt Kenseth, David Gilliland, David reutimann, and Ken Schrader. Tony Stewart was also involved and got a tire rub that eventually caused a tire to go down, slowing him, allowing Kurt Busch to get into the back of the number 20 Home Depot Chevy, spinning Tony out and taking fellow chase contender Carl edwards with him.
Finally
Shortly after that Nascar announced that the race will end at lap 210 due to approaching darkness. Whew! I have to work on Monday! Can we go home now? I’m sure there were a lot of fans who were like me, Ready to see this thing end. But wait! Not so fast people! We get two more cautions and a green white checker finish! Biffle finally takes the checkered flag! Whooo Hoooo! We can go home now! Greg was heard to say in victory lane, “Is it really over?”

Next Week
We go to The Talladega Super Speedway For the UAW Ford 500. This is with out a doubt my favorite track! I am a little bit biased as I live less than 2 hours from Dega. There is nothing like it on the whole circuit. It is, in My opinion, better that Daytona! You can camp at Dega! This is the largest campground in the world, twice a year. If you can get tickets for the race at Talladega, By all means don’t miss this one!
There are two truck-stops within a few exits of the track and dropping a trailer has never been a problem for me. When I was still on the road I used to bobtail into the campground and camp with a few other big rigs! Its a bit wild there at night but a really good time! I’ll check back in probably friday with your Talladega Pre race post.
Stay safe out there and “Go Junior”!
Jimmy Johnson Wins His Second Championship!
HE DID IT AGAIN! JEFF GORDON WINS AGAIN!
