I just got word that International is getting ready to start building a new Truck.
They call it the LoneStar
I’m from Texas so that name kind of resonates. I kinda like it. It sort of looks like a grinning shark. I wonder what it would look like in a gunmetal grey over black color scheme? Psychedelics aside though… I see one thing that I REALLY like.
The intake area through the hood for airflow…… for cooling…it looks to be huge. Us heavy haulers always have trouble with engines overheating. Lots of airflow is a plus.

I don’t like the bumper much but I suppose I could get a “moose killer” bumper for it just like I have for my KW900. That’d look cool …more importantly it would protect that huge radiator area from deer. And trees. And dawgs….And……just like I have now.
I’d have to get a big front axle too….and tires. Wonder if they have a 20K option?
Other than that so far I don’t know anything except that it’s pretty face.
Pretty faces used to impress me. I remember back in the fifties when Chevy, Ford and Chrysler would have their “Big Thing” every year. It was a big whooptie-do whether or not they had fins that year…or white sidewalls. (yawn)
Sure…given the choice of butt ugly or pretty (all things being the same) I’d go with pretty. However……….
However…….If I had the choice of a butt ugly, puke when you look at it truck that was stone reliable…. over pretty……?
Well you know what I’d go for quicker than a politician could forget campaign promises.
Reliable.
I’m kinda looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer besides “pretty”. My truck will have just about a million miles on it about the time the LoneStar is ready. I just checked with a Kenworth Dealer about replacing it. He said my truck wasn’t worth much and I about fainted when he told me what a replacement would cost.
I may just be in the market.
For a LoneStar.

WHOA - that’s a far better looking Tractor than they’ve had in years!
think 1940’s international p/u more open air but looks like the to me. not a bad look an at least it do not have the round headlights on the fender
I really love the looks of this new “well designed truck”, the interior looks livable for me also. If it weren’t for my concern on the economy I’d really be interested in purchasing one of these.
Nice Truck!
