Update:

I'm in the middle of my second week which included three days of orientation. I'm already on my second load. See my blog at http://mickeysheavyhaul.blogspot.com/....considering that at my previous carrier I've had four loads since December I'm feeling fairly optimistic.

Good luck to you and your move. I've been in the cream of the crop situation for coming up on 8 years now. Driving for what amounts to a private carrier, a bay window manufacturer in Manfield, OH, and I do one backhaul every other week. I'm paid by the hour and, except for the bi-weekly backhaul, I only carry their product. I've often wondered if the trucking industry would benefit by going to an hourly wage. I get paid for what's on lines 3 and 4. Seems like that would work for the industry, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, good luck and I hope it works out for you.
