Is that proper English? Who knows. But that’s what I am. I actually made my decision about two years ago when I heard my choice for President speak on a radio show. When it was over, I said, “Damn, this guy should be President.” I’ve been waiting, watching and listening ever since – looking for affirmation that I was correct. And I now believe I was.

Today the Republicans want me to forget about most of the problems in the world – top of the list being the potential collapse of the stock market.  They prefer I focus my attention on a group called Acorn and domestic “rabble rowser” turned college professor, Bill Ayers. And according to Sen. McCain, “friends, that one”,  referring to Sen. Obama, is, in fact, a flaming leftist Communist “loon” who, if elected, will unite with Hugo Chavez to bring down our capitalist society as we now know it.

And, “friends”, those pesky Democrats want me to turn the other way and forget that Barnie Frank, Chris Dodd and Nancy Pilosi need to accept a lot of the responsibility for the economic mess where in, along with a bunch of CEO’s, senior executives and lobbyists. At minimum, Frank, Dodd and Pilosi need to resign from their committees. I like the idea of either candidate appointing someone like Giuliani, the former Mayor of NY to be the next Attorney General and go after those responsible. Too bad, Fox’s Bill O’Reilly came up with it and not the Democrats.

A brief word about Sara Palin. I like her. I want her in some way to be part of the government, and not necessarily in Alaska, where you may or may not think she belongs. The big problem here is that I’m a man. And as women love to remind me –  I (men) think with my, well, you know the deal. And being that way – and I’m being really honest – here comes Sara Palin with the legs, heels, skirt and the whole “package”, and loving women as I do, she gets my attention. If this is some kind of “political” sexism, well, I’m truly sorry, but, as the saying goes, “It’s in my DNA.” But I’ll take her, warts and all, because I think she can make a difference and she’s cute – SORRY! Forget I said that. How shallow of me. Bad Grumpy!

In making my decision my prime consideration was NOT the economy. This “mess” will work itself out no matter who is President. It is not about abortion, which I’m against, but it is not my place to tell a women what to do with her body. I don’t think Roe vs. Wade will be overturned, not matter who is on the Supreme Court. I think it’s going to be tough to do anything about health insurance, so that wasn’t it either. And, I think the goal of energy independence is quite clear now – the auto manufacturers know now that it’s do or die – and both Obama and McCain will do whatever is necessary to move as far away from Middle East oil dependency as quickly as possible.

I didn’t want someone who has all the answers. I do want someone who knows where to find all the answers. And, to bring in the best people to help him. Biden is alright, but I really wanted Hillary. The Bush appointees have been a disaster – models of incompetency. From Mary Peters in Transportation to Brownie of FEMA to Cox of the SEC – all horrible. Men and women with influence, money, position, character, but no common sense. I believe my choice for President will make far better choices.

So what was the thing that made me undecided, no more? It has nothing to do with character. Both men have it and I don’t buy into any of the negative advertising by both of them about each other. I’m hoping that the voters don’t either. The direction of both campaigns, in these last remaining days before the election, has become childish, a turnoff and I feel good for making a decision so I can stop listening to it.

Our relationship with the rest of the world was, in fact, the deciding “X-factor” for me. I took a real hard look at where we (the USA) is right now in the world. We all know our foreign “policy” has been a disaster. Like the financial markets, it requires an immediate overhaul. If you really listen to what Gen. Petraeus says, we can’t succeed with “surges.” And we certainly can’t “move forward” by not talking to our “enemies.”  It’s not all about the “war” on terrorism. Bottom line, it’s about respect. It’s that simple. I know my selection will better our relationship with everyone else on the planet, perhaps, in many ways we can even imagine right now – all for the good. And that’s what’s important to me. That was the “deal” closer.

So there you have it – undecided, no more. I can’t wait to vote. As the Scientologists say, I’m in the “clear.” Well at least at it pertains to who I want the next President to be. Feels go to be out of the undecided closet. Huh? What’s that? Who am I voting for? Oh. Sorry, I can’t tell you that. You’ll have to get undecided no more, all on your own.
