Thanks for all of those who participated in the survey that I had posted. I really appreciate everyone’s efforts and input on the answers that were given. I am only going to post the answers to the truck questions as at this point and time I feel that the other answers were more of a need to know basis. I am also only going to give the answers that were actually used (percentages).
What type of reader are you?
Driver: 80%
Transportation Worker: 10%
Transportation Industry Family Member: 10%
What brought you here today?
Curious about the site: 20%
Avid reader: 60%
Surfed the Internet and Found the Site: 20%
If you are a driver, what kind of truck do you drive?
Kenworth: 40%
International: 20%
Peterbilt: 5%
Bus: 5%
F650: 5%
Freightliner: 5%
Not a driver: 20%
What type of engine does your truck have?
Caterpillar: 50%
Cummins: 30%
Detroit: 10%
The numbers are off on this one – I’m think people answered about the engines even if they were not a driver.
If you could have ANY truck (tractor trailer) at all – no strings attached, no money needed – what truck would you want?
LoneStar: 50%
Peterbilt: 30%
Kenworth: 20%
If you could have any engine at all in your truck – again no strings attached, money is not an object – which engine would you want?
Caterpillar: 60%
MaxxForce: 20%
Cummins 600 ISX: 20%
If you picked more than one answer, the survey site went with the majority winner.
Does the color of your truck matter to you?
Yes: 70% (I was really surprised by that!)
No: 10%
Who Cares As Long As I Make Money?: 20%
The truck weight question I am going to address in a separate article. But I can tell you 60% of you answered that a truck’s weight DID make a difference when a company or perhaps some owner-operators make a truck purchase.
Thank you all for participating! If there is anything you would like to see on the next survey, please feel free to leave a comment!
Be safe!
