Jesse “the body” Ventura. 6″ 4″ 275 lbs. 58 years old. Ex-Navy SEAL and underwater demolition specialist, former Governor of Minnesota and Mayor, actor, retired wrestler, talk show host, personality, Harvard visiting Fellow and Vietnam Veteran. He is considered one of the SEAL’S most famous alumni. Ventura was a member of the Mongols Motorcycle Club. This guy has the right stuff.
He is the author of the bestseller “Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me.” He now makes his home in Mexico down near San Jose del Cabo at the tip of Baja. Ventura is pro-abortion, for the legalization of marijuana and prostitution and for normalizing relations with Cuba. He believes that 9/11 might have occurred as a result of a US government conspiracy. In a Playboy interview, he said, "Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers. It tells people to go out and stick their noses in other people’s business."
In a recent Larry King interview, Ventura stated that George W. Bush was the worst president of his lifetime., On the issue of water boarding, Ventura added: “”It’s a good thing I’m not president because I would prosecute every person that was involved in that torture. I would prosecute the people that ordered it. I’ll put it to you this way, you give me a water board, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I’ll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders.”
Ventura is a high visibility no nonsense straight forward man of the people. Truckers love this guy. He’s an independent. I’m sure the first thing he would do is change the name of OOIDA to anything that (as I said in an earlier post on OOIDA) better reflects all drivers. What truckers need is a national “mouth piece” – a powerful iconoclastic individual who can shake up the ongoing “eyes wide shut” state of our industry. That’s Ventura. He would take OOIDA to heights we could never imagine. It would cost us, but it would be worth it.

You got an excellent point here. He believes in all the things I believe in, but like me, he lives in Mexico. It would just give people like OOIDA member Daniel Kupke something else to vent his hatred on.
Although, the threats of violence, I imagine Jesse could handle better than me.
If you’ve ever really listened to Jesse Ventura, you’ll come to the conclusion the guy hit the mat too hard more than once! He has the strangest set of “opinions” I ever heard of. I heard him explain why he believes vehicles have caused global warming: when he drives his pick-up truck it’s only 80F on the temp sensor on his dash. When he sits in traffic at the border-because the US impedes his travel by asking people questions inbound, his temp sensor goes up to 110F! Therefore, that’s proof the vehicles at the border caused it (ever hear of heat retention, Jesse? Ever check out hot cement?). Furthermore, we dont have illegal aliens in the US-those are just all fine middle-class families who came up here for vacation and somebody offered them a job (that’s Jesse talking). Tell that to the lady that just got her three-year-old back! He wants open borders because he doesnt think he should have to be checked in at the border. So, he’s a globalist. And, I seriously doubt all truckers love Jesse-certainly none of them who heard him spouting crap that night on the XM. Many called in later to say just how disappointed they were-he sure wasnt walking the talk! I dont know who wrote his book, but I can just about guarantee it wasnt him. And, many of us are neither pro-abortion or anti-religion, so we probably wont like him near as much as you do.
As for OOIDA-it’s NOT a union! Was never meant to be a union-it’s a lobbying organization more than anything. Because of their charter and structure, they are legally prohibited from doing the kinds of things so many drivers seem to think they should be doing. You want a union-ya want Jimmy Hoffa-you wont get it from them: The Bozo will tell you why they cant do that-he nearly got busted once for the Feds thinking he was advocating a strike. . talks about it often. But, I agree-their name is confusing to many people. It really would be more beneficial if they changed it to make it more all-inclusive to all drivers.
No-you keep Jesse-he’s dangerous in the way all idiots are dangerous.
