Back around the first of May, I had a medical issue that forced me into emergency surgery followed by a six week convalescence (6 DAMN WEEKS!)
I’ve observed something political that I “KNEW” but have not really articulated.
I come from a family of Democrats, NO Really!
Those of you that know me or have read my personal blog, are saying to your self; “he’s drunk again, there is NO WAY he comes from a Democrat family”. “He will attack a liberal at the drop of a hat!”
You’re right, I will, I have been known to start political donnybrooks in the most unlikely of places and have even been known to scream at a TV in a truck stop when Hussein or his racist wife are speaking. (The TA in Portage IN for one… sorry guys)
Liberals are not Democrats, never have been.
My mom and Dad have been Democrats all their lives. Partisan to the extreme for a long time; Strait party voting Democrats.
I don’t agree with strait party voting anything. Of course, that’s “my” business.
Now here I am in Oklahoma, (The Old Country for my German/Dutch/Native American family)
Oklahoma, the only solid “RED” state in the country. The State that reminded Hussein and his thugs what the word “Sovereign” means. And passed laws to ensure it.
Oklahoma. I’m here because I work for an Oklahoma trucking company. I stayed here cause I have family that insisted that I remove myself from that crappy motel the company put me in and take an empty room at their place.
It’s been good to get to know family again, people I haven’t seen in 25 or more years.
Old fashion Democrats. Like Mom and Dad.
Mom and Dad, partisan as they were, stopped toeing the party line a long time ago. After Carter almost sank us, they REALLY started looking around before they voted. One look at Slick Willie and THEY CHANGED PARTIES. Now they are registered independents.
They gave Kerry a “chance”. I showed them the senate meeting where `Ole John tried to sell the US Military down the river. Where he called them liars and murderers. Where he said they were intentionally killing civilians. (sound familiar? It should, its an old Liberal lie.)
(2 more votes for “W”, even though they don’t like him, they like a traitor less)
Obama turned them off with about 3 words. They liked him less than they did Bildo. (and whats her face… Hitlery)
Here at the family’s place in OK, I’ve found pretty much the same story. ALL of these people are Democrats and always have been.
I’ve spoken to a lot of people on this subject, The Democrats of today are NOT Democrats, they are Social liberals that have hijacked the Name.
In all of my family, I can count the Obama supporters with one finger and I hold that finger up for the liberals that stole our party.
(FYI, I’m not a member of either party, I don’t support the limited idea of two (2) parties)

I would say my family has basically the same history. We are the generation that finally says to hell with the two parties which have both been hijacked by the extremes while saying they represent the majority of their party.
Back before TODAY’S Democrats ruined the economy……..in the days of (gritting my teeth here…but it’s true) Lyndon Johnson, Hubert Humphreyand Everett Dirkson, THOSE democrats….they were (more) honorable….as honorable as politicians are ever likely to be.
(Politic: from the Greek, Poli = many. Tic = blood sucker)
Today’s Democrats? NOT.
The democratic platform today is indistinguishable from that of the Communist party.
So what’s the choice? Republican? I’ve often said that if you vote for a democrat you get what the democrats want. If you vote for a Republican you STILL get what the democrats want….cause the republicans are spineless. They cave. As evidence I present the Administrations of both Bushes.
Some third party? As if. The game is rigged. NO ONE but a republican nor a democrat have the chance of a snowflake in hell to be elected to a major office. Ron Paul, who I WOULD have voted for, and was demonized, really, didn’t have much of a chance.
Am I pessimistic? Do I think the country is going down the tubes?
Nope. I’m counting on three things which can be verified by historical observation
1. Politicians are stupid.
2. The rate of technological advancement is very rapid and is increasing.
3. Politicians, being stupid, won’t be able to keep up with technological advance and consequently ,advanced technology will keep us (relatively) free.
I admit I’m an optimist. Possibly unrealistically so.
Plus I’m hoping Hell will freeze over.
Did you say “donnybrook?” – domhnach broc – eye – haven’t heard that expression in a long time. Makes me want some bacon and boiled cabbage with a Murphy’s Stout.
Green party FTW then?!
