Back before TODAY'S Democrats ruined the economy........in the days of (gritting my teeth here...but it's true) Lyndon Johnson, Hubert Humphreyand Everett Dirkson, THOSE democrats....they were (more) honorable....as honorable as politicians are ever likely to be.

(Politic: from the Greek, Poli = many. Tic = blood sucker)

Today's Democrats? NOT.

The democratic platform today is indistinguishable from that of the Communist party.

So what's the choice? Republican? I've often said that if you vote for a democrat you get what the democrats want. If you vote for a Republican you STILL get what the democrats want....cause the republicans are spineless. They cave. As evidence I present the Administrations of both Bushes.

Some third party? As if. The game is rigged. NO ONE but a republican nor a democrat have the chance of a snowflake in hell to be elected to a major office. Ron Paul, who I WOULD have voted for, and was demonized, really, didn't have much of a chance.

Am I pessimistic? Do I think the country is going down the tubes?

Nope. I'm counting on three things which can be verified by historical observation

1. Politicians are stupid.
2. The rate of technological advancement is very rapid and is increasing.
3. Politicians, being stupid, won't be able to keep up with technological advance and consequently ,advanced technology will keep us (relatively) free.

I admit I'm an optimist. Possibly unrealistically so.

Plus I'm hoping Hell will freeze over.

I would say my family has basically the same history. We are the generation that finally says to hell with the two parties which have both been hijacked by the extremes while saying they represent the majority of their party.
